Taher Group Law Firm has announced the inclusion of its office in the Arab Republic of Egypt as the exclusive representative of the British IR Global alliance in the fields of real estate law, commercial law, and tax law, marking a significant step in strengthening its international presence and professional expansion.

On this occasion, Attorney Khaled Taher Al-Khateeb, Partner and Managing Director of the Cairo office, congratulated Attorney Ahmed Tawfik on the firm’s exclusive inclusion within the alliance in the aforementioned practice areas, emphasizing that this achievement enhances the firm’s ability to represent multinational clients.

Al-Khateeb noted that Taher Group Law Firm focuses in Egypt on supporting Kuwaiti investors by facilitating the organization of their commercial affairs, restructuring their companies, and addressing their tax situations. He highlighted that several Kuwaiti companies in Egypt have faced accumulated tax liabilities, and that over the past three years, the firm has successfully regularized the legal status of these investors and reduced taxes imposed on them, their companies, and their real estate assets, either through communication with relevant authorities or by filing legal appeals before the courts.

He further explained that the firm has also been actively managing real estate assets for a large number of Kuwaiti investors to ensure proper legal compliance before the Real Estate Tax Authority.

For his part, Attorney Ahmed Tawfik pointed out that many Kuwaitis and foreign investors tend to neglect the follow-up of their real estate properties in Egypt, exposing themselves to legal and financial consequences under Egyptian law, particularly significant accumulated tax liabilities, whether for residential or commercial properties, regardless of the number of units owned.

Tawfik added that while the Real Estate Tax Authority in Egypt is advancing its electronic services, certain procedures still require on-ground follow-up across various governorates, which the firm provides to its foreign clients.

He also noted the increasing interest among Kuwaiti investors in establishing commercial and investment companies in Egypt across various sectors, given the size of the market. In parallel, the firm also targets Egyptian investors wishing to conduct commercial, investment, and petroleum-related activities in the State of Kuwait, providing them with comprehensive legal support through its Kuwait office, which has over fifty years of legal experience and operates in accordance with ISO 9001 international quality standards.

Tawfik concluded by stating that the Kuwait office of Taher Group has recently signed two cooperation agreements with one of the largest professional legal and financial firms in the People’s Republic of China, aiming to facilitate investment projects for its clients in Kuwait and Egypt within the Chinese market.

كما أوضح أن المجموعة قامت بمتابعة الأملاك العقارية لعدد كبير من المستثمرين الكويتيين، بهدف تنظيم أوضاعهم القانونية أمام مصلحة الضرائب العقارية.

من جانبه، لفت المحامي أحمد توفيق إلى أن العديد من الكويتيين والأجانب يتركون ممتلكاتهم العقارية في مصر دون متابعة، مما يعرّضهم لتبعات قانونية ومالية وفقاً للقوانين المصرية، أبرزها تراكم الضرائب بشكل كبير، سواء على العقارات السكنية أو التجارية، بغض النظر عن عدد الوحدات المملوكة.

وأضاف توفيق أن مصلحة الضرائب العقارية في مصر تعمل على تطوير خدماتها إلكترونياً، إلا أن بعض الإجراءات لا تزال تتطلب مراجعات ميدانية في المحافظات المختلفة، وهو ما تقدمه المجموعة لعملائها من الملاك الأجانب.

كما أشار إلى وجود إقبال متزايد من المستثمرين الكويتيين على تأسيس شركات تجارية واستثمارية في مصر في مجالات متنوعة، نظراً لحجم السوق الكبير. وفي المقابل، تستهدف المجموعة أيضاً المستثمرين المصريين الراغبين في ممارسة أنشطتهم التجارية والاستثمارية والبترولية في دولة الكويت، حيث تقوم بتنظيم شؤونهم القانونية من خلال مكتبها في الكويت، الذي يتمتع بخبرة تتجاوز خمسين عاماً ويعمل وفق معايير الجودة العالمية ISO 9001.
